The proposed visit of team from National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for inspection of manufacturing facility of supplying companies in Nigeria deferred indefinitely on the grounds of security situation in Pakistan. As per revealed details the postponement of this visit devoid Pakistan of blossom the business ties with Nigeria specially when both governments are working very close for improving in mutual business ties through their direct contacts. This postponement of inspection badly dented the efforts made by PECO for organizing First Single Country Trade Fair at Kano (which is now postponed) despite the fact that Kano is more volatile with security issues than Karachi and Lahore. It is  quite unfortunate that the postponement information was made available in business circles at same time when invitation was made to Pakistani companies by PECO to participate in Trade fair at Kano which is duly sponsored by Kano Sate Government and other government concern entities in Nigeria. As per further information to PECO, the NAFDAC team is supposed to visit two leading Pakistan Pharmaceutical companies in Karachi and Lahore respectively, and it is worth mentioning that they ranked among top companies in Pakistan. The matter is officially reported to Nigeria High Commission at Islamabad for resolution. It is hoping that new Ambassador of Nigeria at Islamabad, Pakistan Mr. Dauda Danladi will intervene and resolve the issue on priority. In this regard the detailed meeting was taken place between company officials and Ambassador at Lahore with PECO Director Mr. Ibrahim Bin Maqsood who is also official representative for effected companies. The follow up meeting was  also held One on One with PECO Director at High Commission of Nigeria at Islamabad in recent past who is entrusted by the same task by the companies. It is worth mentioned that PECO is also working with same agenda of improving bilateral business ties between two brotherly countries certainly helped for early solution to the problems. The PECO anticipated early resolution to the problem.
